About Us



We have always been keen cyclists, so we understand how important it is to have a bike that works properly. We enjoy both on and off-road cycling.

Steve decided to set up his own cycle business in 2016. I chose the company name from my cycle racing days riding for Calleva Cycle Racing Club based in Silchester (home of the roman site of Calleva).

I started competitive cycling as a schoolboy in 1976. I competed at a national and international level for approximately 15 years. During those years I concentrated on road racing, track racing and finishing my racing career in 2000 racing mountain bikes both downhill and cross country.

During my racing years I was a bike mechanic, building and maintaining my own racing bikes to a high standard. All our bicycle mechanics have a minimum Cytech Level 2 qualification in bicycle mechanics which is recognised as the industry standard.

Experience, attention to detail is essential. I’ve been working on bikes, cars and motorbikes for longer than I care to remember, and my engineering background is a great help too.

Bicycle maintenance has become more and more complex. Bicycle technology has progressed enormously over the past decades with the introduction of electric bikes, front and rear suspension, hydraulic disk brakes and electronic gear shifters.

Calleva Cycles caters for all technologies across all ages of bikes.
